Do you have any words of wisdom on how to achieve the right kind of bounce in jive?

Sup playa,
Focus on the down on 2. The bounce isn’t really about going up. It’s about the rebound off the bending of the knees and settling of the hip on the 2. So…..
If the jive rhythm is 1 uh 2 uh, think of it as 1 uh DOWN up.
Also, a good exercise is to skip sideways like a kid and really focus on the feeling of DOWN. That’s all a chasse really is - skipping twice in one direction then skipping twice in the other.
Once you find that sense of dropping weight into the floor, then you’ll find the rebound is a natural reaction - this is where jive bounce comes from.
Hope this helps,
V
Hi, First of all, thanks for posting those videos on basic latin concepts/technique. I was trying to find those shoes you advertise on your video (leather sole?) but I can't seem to find them. Are they still available?

Even though I have been dancing since the age of 7 (29 now) the information you are giving in your blogs is awesome, i wish i lived closer to you to take lessons :(
